Mayz House
Project by Studio Cays
Rabat, Morocco
In a minimalist style, interior designers Yasmine & Yacout Benmoussa blend contemporary spirit. Their dual and complementary designer signature, combined with carefully selected statement pieces, defines their work.
From the outset, Yasmine and Yacout Benmoussa opted for exclusively natural materials to add a touch of softness, counterbalancing the concrete exterior of the Mayz villa. Agadir pink marble and travertine, in three finishes—raw, polished, or aged—bring light and subtle nuance, while maintaining a harmonious color palette throughout the living area. Softness and warmth are the key themes in this space, where each piece of furniture or object is meant to tell its own story.
Facing the bookshelf, the owners’ personal books and trinkets narrate their lives, while the bean-shaped sofa, placed in the corner, preserves the view. Nothing synthetic is used here, from the leather pendant lights, plaster half-pots mounted on the walls to hold the light fixtures like flowers, to the scattered coffee tables in the living room and reading nook, near the chaise longue facing the pool. In this harmony of soft tones, enhanced by textured rugs, white-on-white, the space invites you to lose track of time, peacefully immersed in reading.
